Working towards a greener future
Hardware:
We utilise second hand phones to build 'loan' phones for our customers and then pass all unuseable phones to a recycling firm.

Office:
Aerial Telephones use recycled paper wherever possible in our in-house printing and external printwork. We also use refillable toners and recycle all waste paper.

Training and Support
Employees of Aerial Telephones are encouraged to take part in career development and we also provide relevant ongoing 'on-the-job' training.

Community & Charity
We have shown support for a number of local and National charities through sponsorship events, and donations including Action Medical Research, Naomi House, and Rowans Hospice.

Team Building
Aerial Telephones hold monthly events for all members of the team to meet socially as we believe in a positive working environment.

Recycling

In 2011 Aerial Telephones launched a new initiative to encourage our customers to recycle old phones.

Last year we looked at all of the wastage that mobile phones have created and donated a large number of the spare parts to various charitable organisations and now we have taken this one step further and introduced a freepost envelope that goes to all of our customers for the FREE and EASY return of their old phones.

The number of mobile phones recycled in 2009 doubled from the previous year to 8 million...is it enough?
Considering that the UK disposes of of over 15 million every year that means we are still sending a substantial amount of good materials to the dump. There are many components in a mobile phone that can be re-used and at Aerial Telephones we offer a continuing supply of refurbished phones that we can loan to customers to utilise when a handset has been lost or is being repaired.
There are often handsets that are too damaged to be utilised here but we provide the parts to be used for rebuilding mobile phones for third world countries and as parts for repairs.
By encouraging our customers to recycle mobile phones we can divert them from the otherwise inevitable landfill. The freepost envelope is a simple but effective solution making disposable quick and easy to return to us and we ensure the phone or parts are put to good use.

Furthermore we will make quarterly donations for every phone returned to Action Medical Research.
